I want to thank a small handful of girls from my hockey team this year. Thank you to the girls who did a great job of putting me down this year and making this the worst year of hockey for me yet. I’m sorry I didn’t speak up about how annoying I found a lot of you, because reflecting back on this last year I see it as a huge waste of time. I’ve been on the team longer than anyone from the team has been. I’m sorry I didn’t try to “bond” with you all. You see, I just couldn’t succumb to your low level of class by joining in on the regular “I got sooo drunk this weekend” talks. Not my idea of fun team bonding. Like many of you did not and probably will never understand, I was working my ass off to keep up with grade 12. Some of you may realize this next year. I’m sorry a lot of you don’t understand what it’s like to have the pressure of the private school system on your shoulders. You have no fucking clue. Sure I missed out on team bonding activities on weekends but that was mainly because 1. I have a job, and 2. Why would I want to hangout with you after how you treat me in the change room? I was missing practices and games because I was building up my art portfolio and grades, especially in January and February. I was not missing practices/games for stupid reason (hangover, too early, etc.). I was doing work everyday after school until 4:30/5, and working on art throughout my weekends. An average 4 hours every weekend was put to art alone. Now, this message does not go out to all of the girls on the team. I sincerely apologize for not making a stronger effort to get to know you. To those who it might concern, let’s all remember we were apart of a HOUSE HOCKEY TEAM. If you wanted more commitment from players, go to Richmond.
So, after months of patiently waiting.. Justice finally came to Vancouver.
After getting over my, “concert hangover,” I can honestly say it was the most violent concert I have ever been too. I want to apologize to my body. You suffered a real beating. I’ve been to other concerts that end up getting pretty crazy in the front but I’ve never had bruises like this. I especially like the bruise under my chin from a foot that came down on top of me. In that moment, I bit down hard and for a blank second I thought I had a concussion. I also had the same scare moments later as the same foot came down and whooped me in the face and I thought I had a nosebleed. You can only imagine my delirious state.
Apart from the various injuries and borderline gang violence occurring before my eyes it really was a great time. Once concert go -ers eventually got over the fact I was prancing around in a silver sequined bra, things were really great. The opener, Breakbot, was awesome. Justice, was awesome.
Thanks, Justice. Please visit again soon.
